"Grief Recovery 101"
Begins Thursday Sept 30th - Pre-registeration required
Grief Recovery 101 is a series of six classes designed to help people return to the joy of living after experiencing an important loss within the previous 12 months. Each class session will deal with particular topics about grief and will allow time for questions and discussion.
This program is not a therapy group or a support group. It is offered as a non-threatening class in which you can simply listen, learn, and ask questions about what to expect as you are working through your grief. We don’t want you to worry that you will be expected to bare your soul.Classes will be taught by Linda Gill, LPC.
Please note: This program is offered only for who are grieving a loss. It is not for appropriate for those who want to learn to help. We offer other classes for the purpose of helping.
When: Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
September 30; October 7, 14, 21, 28; November 4
Where: Columbia First Church of the Nazarene (Near I-26 at St. Andrews Road Exit)
Cost: $150 per person (averages $25 per 1½-hour class session)
$ 50 for each additional person from the same family

September 30: What you need to know about grief (and were afraid to ask)
October 7: “Help me! I think I’m going crazy! What do I do with all the feelings I’m having?”
October 14: “What in the world is good mourning? I don’t think there’s anything good about it!”
October 21: “What if my loss is “different” from other losses, or complicated by other issues?”
October 28: “How do I deal with all the things that remind me of the person who is gone?”
November 4: “How can I tell if I’m getting better?” “What if I don’t want to get better?"
